Own a snake or whatever what you want but it is your duty as a pet owner and a parent to make sure the pet is secure and fed and to keep your children safe from it.

Had they gotten a more secure enclosure, this might of never even happened. It sickens me as well that they declined the (grand)mother’s multiple offers of

1) buying the snake they even said they couldn’t afford to feed,

2) buying food for the snake or

3) buying a more secure enclosure.

Also because they thought keeping a snake that was known to escape multiple times around children. I’m glad they got jail time because that is pure negligence on their part as BOTH a pet owner AND a parent.
